Life is tough all year round for people affected by a life-threatening diagnosis or bereavement. However, moments of celebration such as the Christmas period can be particularly hard for those facing an uncertain future, or missing a loved one who has died. As a result we usually see an increase in demand around the festive season.

We're hoping to raise £5,000 this Christmas - will you help us?

No donation is too small – by making a small donation to a small charity the difference is anything but small. Please help us by donating what you can afford. Every donation helps us deliver life changing counselling to local families in need of our support.

£54 pays for a session with one of our experienced counsellors, helping people navigate the uniquely complex and painful feelings that a life-threatening diagnosis or bereavement can cause.

Your donation helps us support people like Vanessa, who found it hard to cope after the loss of a close friend.

'A year later, I feel like I can cope, I don't feel like I have to sit on my own and cry on my own, I'm not holding it in and although I don't chat about it loads, I know I'm not holding on to it like I was before.'

At WHY we understand that the impact of cancer and life-threatening conditions goes far beyond the individual diagnosed and their closest family. We support everyone who needs it, and we don't place any time limit on accessing our service. When you ask why...we hear you.

Will you donate £10, or whatever you can afford, to help people like Vanessa?

Our vital specialist services support people affected or bereaved by cancer or any other life-threatening condition in Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire.
